Ketra
Karen’s love of animals was apparent as soon as I saw how she interacted with my dog.  She has watched Ketra many, many times and I feel so much more comfortable leaving her at Karen’s than I did when I took her to the boarder.  She treats Ketra as if she were her own, with long walks and playful time outside in her fenced-in yard.  My husband and I go away often and I feel the most comfortable with Karen.  I live in Gulph Mills and she’s not around the corner, but it’s definitely worth the trip for peace of mind when it comes to your pet.  I recommend her highly.

             Dawson
All we can say is… thank goodness we found Karen!  We have a puppy, Dawson , and were heading out of town for a long weekend but didn’t know what we were going to do with him.  We were very uncomfortable about leaving him in a kennel, as he was so young and had never been away from us.  Fortunately we found out about Karen from Marlene and Arnie Weiner, and once we met her we knew that we no longer had to worry about what to do with Dawson when we went away.  Each time Dawson has stayed with Karen we know that he has been well cared for and loved.  He is given plenty of time to run and play, comes home smelling fresh and clean, and gets all the attention he so craves!   It has been a relief to have found Karen, and we look forward to Dawson spending many more wonderful weeks with her in the years to come.

I am the proud and loving owner of two tiny long-haired Chihuahuas and for those of you that have ever had a dog that could be mistaken for a squirrel know that small dogs can be much more than just a handful.  My little angels are the sweetest fuzz-balls ever but only if and when they know you and trust you with all 5 pounds of their being.  I used to worry and stress my self to think about going on vacation and leaving my little angels in the arms of big, scary, cold and distant vet employees.  Not only would my puppies have to be in a cold kennel with a million different smells but they would probably have a million different people caring for them too.  I hated the thought of my babies sitting cold and shaking in a metal box while I was out enjoying the world, that all ended the day I took my babies to meet Karen.  Not only was she willing to let my puppies stay in her home like they were part of her family but she even let them sleep in the bed under the covers with her!!  When I finally left for my vacation I knew my pups would be in better hands than my own.  I called Karen once and it was more to check on her, again these two can be trouble.  I would recommend Karen to anyone and everyone.  Why send your loved ones to the vet when there is an angel like Karen out there to watch over them while you are gone!!   Karen for the Dogs is paws down THE BEST!!  ~ paw prints here: BellaDonna and Dobby   Niki B.,  South Philadelphia

Are you a concerned owner seeking quality care for your dog? You have found the right place!  It is sincere pleasure to recommend Karen Horan (“Karen for the Dogs”) to you as a caregiver that you are seeking. After many long, frustrating and often troublesome hours of investigating and visiting facilities to witch we would entrust our beloved three-year old shepherd mix, we were thrilled to find Karen who opened her home and her heart to our dog Zoey.  We were pleased to learn that Zoey would not be confined to a crate, sleeping on a slab of concrete, limited to exercise in a small area and left unattended for hours on end with little stimulation in questionable, uncomfortable conditions and exposed to inclement weather.  On the contrary, Karen treated our dog as if it were her own, allowing it access to her beautiful home and fenced in yard and taking her for long walks and trips to a nearby dog park.  She provided detailed updates when we phoned in to check on our pet and even emailed pictures of Zoey as additional reassurance that we had left her in capable and caring hands.   We were ale to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing that our dog was receiving care and attention to which she is accustomed.  We highly recommend Karen Horan for her reasonable rates, her accessibility and flexibility, her first-class accommodations and her genuine love of animals.  We found her to be professional, personable and passionate.  We will not hesitate to make use of her dog-sitting services in the future and feel quite comfortable in recommending her to others who, like us, consider their pets as extensions of their families.  Jan G., Pam D.,  Bala Cynwyd, PA

Our dog Jake had the pleasure of staying with Karen while our family went on vacation to Florida for ten days.  We were honored when Karen, who is also our neighbor, offered to watch Jake for us.  After taking Jake to “meet” Karen prior to our trip, we instantly new that he was going to be loved and cared for.  She encouraged us to call whenever we wanted to check in and also took the time to email pictures to us of their week together.  Jake made many new “furry” friends during his stay with Karen.  It was very comforting to know that he was in such good hands.  We highly recommend Karen because it’s clear that she is passionate about what she does.   The Giardetti Family,  Hatboro, PA

The name may be “Karen for the Dogs”, but she’ll take good care of your cats, guinea pigs and fish, too!  Going on a business trip is stressful enough without having to worry about your pets being taken care of while you’re gone.  We’re so grateful to have had Karen to take care of our babies.  Having known Karen for over a year, we were perfectly comfortable leaving our cherished pets in her care.  Upon our return, we weren’t surprised to find all of our pets happy and healthy – and not even one fish died!                Benny
I met with Karen after relocating to the Ambler area.  It was important that I find someone who would take of my baby, Benny, while traveling for work or for play.  After meeting with Karen, there was no question that I would be contacting her as soon as the need arose.  While I didn’t need Karen’s services until this past month, I can say without hesitation that I knew that Benny was in good hands as I pulled away.  My experience with Karen was excellent.  Karen gave me a re-cap of Benny’s visit when I returned to pick him up and I was completely satisfied.  After I brought Benny home on Sunday, he found his way to his bed and conked out for hours.  It was obvious he had a great time playing with his new pals Millie and Casey (two other puppies staying with Karen that weekend also).  Karen sent me via E-Mail a Smilebox card with pictures of Benny chewing on his bone and playing in the yard.  It was awesome!  I thought it was such a nice touch.  What pet owner wouldn’t love to find such a card in their in-box? Now, I have a special memento and I was reassured of the fun that Benny had while staying with Karen.  I think Karen runs a top-notch pet sitting business, she’s trustworthy and competent.   Jeri,  Ambler, PA

Dear Karen,

I just wanted to thank you so much for having Jackson stay with you last week during our vacation.  It made me feel so much at ease to know that his first "vacation" was in a safe environment with a person who clearly cares so deeply about dogs.  I'm so glad that you played Frisbee with him and it was so nice that you bathed him after such a rainy week.  Further, I know he had an awesome time playing with his canine friends.  It was funny, but Jackson was obviously sad to leave his temporary home.  Please do not hesitate to have future client's contact me for a reference -- I only have wonderful things to say!
