Hello, my name is Karen, owner of Karen For The
Dogs. I lost Bailey, my 9 year old Golden Retriever in June of '06
to liver cancer. He was an amazing dog that traveled
everywhere with me, even to work. He loved playing in the
snow, the sound of children’s laughter, playing with tennis balls
and swimming at the local park.
Not having the heart to bring another dog home and with my two
daughters starting their own lives and families, I was a true empty
nester. I love my cat Cotton and my cockatiel Popeye, but it
was not the same as my best friend Bailey greeting me at the door.
When my friends starting traveling and taking vacations, I jumped at
the chance to bring home their dogs and once again, I enjoyed the
love and laughter only a dog can give. A friend of mine had
suggested I do this as a business upon retuning for her dog, after a
long weekend away. What a great idea! I continued to work full time and pet sit part time, however,
a year later I was given a wonderful opportunity to pursue my
passion of pet care full time.
Let me love your dog as I did my own. I watch various breeds and
personalities of pooches in my home.
Is your pet part of the family? Comfortable sleeping in your bed? Over night stays or long vacations.

Why choose Karen for the Dogs? There are pet sitting
services that stay overnight in your home. Most people are uncomfortable with
the idea of having a stranger stay in their home while they are away. With Karen
for the Dogs, you bring your dog for overnight dog sitting in my home. Whether
you plan a weekend getaway or a long needed vacation, I provide a loving
environment with playtime in my large fenced in yard or indoor patio for
inclement weather with lots of attention. I also provide walks and trips to the
dog park. It is my philosophy to treat your dog as you would. I follow the same
schedule you have in your home. When the lights go out at night, I am there to
comfort them if they are scared. If your dog sleeps with you, they will sleep
with me. I am right there beside them if your dog loves to cuddle on the couch.
Many of my furry friends come to me from referrals which tell me my clients can
see the love and passion I have for their pets. I not only love your pet, but
they love me back.
What a great job I have! I wake up with sloppy face licks, unconditional love
and knowing I will be playing at the park with your dog or sitting with your
kitty purring in my lap. Each day is a new adventure where I interact with
owners and their pets. I am professional as well as insured and bonded. I
recently completed the American Red Cross Pet CPR/First Aid Class. I continue to
educate myself and strive to be the person your dog thinks I am.
